Deborah McKenzie, Public Health England
Public Health England’s aim is to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for every citizen and drive down inequalities within and between local communities as fast as possible. This is a complex challenge requiring leaders from many places to work together. We believe we can only succeed when leaders from across communities not only work together, they lead together.
Systems Leadership provides the insight, the knowledge and the practical ways of working that enable this to happen. It recognises that leadership is not vested solely in those who occupy positions of authority, but rather reflects contexts in which leadership and influence are distributed across the respective teams.
We are proud to be working with colleagues from the Leadership Centre, the National Skills Academy for Social Care, the NHS Leadership Academy, and the Virtual Staff College to support leaders across our systems who are committed to leading beyond their organisational boundaries.
